The 31-year-old joined the SouthKorean side on a two-year deal earlier this month and made his first minutes in a friendly against Japanese second division side Roasso Kumamoto this week. Lingard was released from Forest last summer and was without a club for more than six months. He says he snubbed "many offers" before agreeing to join Seoul, but this move is a big step down in his career. His chances of making the England squad are likely over as the K-League is not nearly as strong as the Premier League or other divisions in Europe. Although he wants to win silverware in Korea, it feels the attacking midfielder made one or two wrong decisions along the way.
WHAT NEXT?
Lingard, who hadfailed trials at West Hamand Saudi Pro League sideAl-Ettifaq in 2023, is likely to make his first-team debut for Seoul when the K-League season starts next month, with Kim Gi-dong's side travelling to Gwangju on March 2.
