Haaland missed golden opportunity against UnitedNorwegian gives honest assessment of formBut says he ignores critics amid 31-goal seasonGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
He may have scored 31 goals across all competitions already this season, but the towering Norwegian forward had one of the misses of the season in Sunday's 3-1 victory. Having been found expertly by Phil Foden, Haaland somehow proceeded to volley over the bar when a header seemed the better option. However, the forward rectified his error with a goal late on, and he insists that misses such as that won't affect his game moving forward.

Speaking to reporters ahead of City's Champions League last-16 second-leg fixture against Copenhagen, the forward admitted: "I've been missing. I miss a lot of chances. I will still keep on missing chances, I will still score goals so I'll probably miss a big chance in the future as well and people are going to criticise me and what can I do then? Should I think of that? No. I should focus on scoring more goals and helping the team.
"There's a lot of things I can become better at, everything by the way. People say I'm good at scoring goals but I missed the biggest chance in the world ever two days ago so I can also become better at that. It's with everything in life – if you over-think something, it's not good. If you stress in your life, it's not good. My focus is to become the best possible version of myself and the main thing then is the mental part."

Haaland has been profligate on occasion this season, but more often than not these have become forced talking points. The Norwegian still holds a two-goal lead in the Premier League top scorer race – despite missing five league games through injury – as Pep Guardiola's side look to once again turn it up a notch going into the business end of the campaign. City are now unbeaten in the league since December.
DID YOU KNOW?
While things may look all rosy for Haaland currently, he wouldn't rule out a move elsewhere in the near future amid continued links with Real Madrid. He said on Tuesday: "I say this now, it will probably be a massive headline, tomorrow you never know what the future brings but I am happy. You can write this but you also have to write everything I said before. I am happy."
