Adams on track to return from injuryIn first-team training for BournemouthTouted for return to captain roleWHAT HAPPENED?
On Tuesday's episode of the CBS Sports GOLAZO show, studio host Nigel Reo-Coker shared that he believes Adams is the 'one player' who shows a certain 'edge' on the international stage. As such, he thinks that the 25-year-old will be handed back the captain's armband once he is healthy and playing regularly for club and country.
Adams has been sidelined with an ongoing hamstring injury since last spring, that resulted in surgery in October. In the interim, USMNT veterans Christian Pulisic and Matt Turner have been sharing and swapping the armband.

The former Aston Villa and West Ham player shared his praise for Adams, who he has touted for a return to the pitch, wearing the armband. "When I look at this USMNT side, he's the one player that I really would say has that edge, that character and personality… He's got that bit of swagger that I love."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola announced early this week that Adams is actively pushing for a return to the pitch from injury. The Spaniard revealed that Adams is in 'no pain' and that he is 'doing really well,' putting him on track to take the pitch in the coming weeks, as he has already returned to training.
USMNT boss Gregg Berhalter also added Adams to his preliminary 60-man roster for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League semifinal match against Jamaica on March 21. The final 23-man roster will be shared on or by March 11.
